  • GIRL SCOUT PROMISE •
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God* and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

  • GIRL SCOUT LAW •
I will do my best to be:
    honest and fair,
    friendly and helpful,
    considerate and caring,
    courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,

  and to
    respect myself and others,
    respect authority,
    use resources wisely,
make the world a better place,
  and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

  *The word "God" can be
interpreted in a number of ways,
  depending on one's spiritual beliefs.
  When reciting the Girl Scout
promise, it is okay to replace the
word "God" with whatever word your
  spiritual beliefs dictate.

SUMMER CAMP 2008
Where will you be this summer? How about at day or resident camp at Camp Shawadasee or Camp Soni Springs, exploring the out-of-doors, making new friends and gaining
self-confidence to last a lifetime! Swimming, campfires and cookouts will highlight the days, and exciting programs will challenge every girl. It’s a supportive, safe environment, where girls have fun and learn new skills.

Camp Shawadasee, in Lawton, Michigan, offers more than 260 acres of wooded land and 1,800 feet of lake access, perfect for discovery and fun. At Camp Soni Springs, near Three Oaks, Michigan, girls can explore more than 150 acres of open and wooded land, a river and a lake. At both camps, girls stay in tents pitched on wood floors, platform tents or cabins. Trained, experienced counselors guide their experiences.

Camp registration is open now -- click here for the details! For more information, contact Sara Brown, (574) 273-3021, ext. 302, or sara@gsssc.org.

GROWING STRONGER TO SERVE EVERY GIRL
Across Girl Scouts of Singing Sands, volunteers are mentoring girls and expanding their horizons. As a council, we’re also busy building on our organization to provide the best programming for girls and support to volunteers.

One way we’re strengthening Girl Scouting is through the realignment of council boundaries. The result will be expanded opportunities for girls, enhanced services for adult volunteers, continued outreach to underserved populations, and vibrant partnerships within
the community.

When these efforts are completed later this year, our Indiana counties, plus Berrien and Cass counties in Michigan, will merge with 3 other councils to form Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana. Our remaining Michigan counties will merge with other Michigan councils to create Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan. Throughout the council realignment process, programs and activities for girls and adults are continuing. In fact, with the ongoing collaboration of the merging councils, even more programs and activities are already available.
